Rome has not been erected in a single day !

We have been working hard for the past six months to check the various sides of the software suite, dig out the potential improvements, and feature new developments and functionalities… Here we are today with the abilities of auto-updates that prevent from tedious repetitive downloads. It has been particularly challenging with the Macintosh platform, to deal with the secret hidden specs of Tiger vs Leopard and vice versa… It’s working fine nowadays and we have to thank our Mac users for their patience, being said that we have never thought about leaving them on the side of the road!…

Koen de Smet, M.D.

One other question has risen up about the speed of connection and display of windows whilst on line… In particular the tests on real time with the huge and complex Dr Koen De Smet’s V5 database transferred to V6 with about 5000 patients, including thousands of images have led us improving the software regarding some directions…

– Improving the speed of the Global server, by a better selection and settings of the various filters to provide security and liability of transfers.

– Featuring a newly designed directory, to provide faster display of pages, and featuring an advanced and optimized means of search by simply typing the first letters of required patient’s name. In addition a system of display by letters and no longer by number of pages will help.

– Adding a fourth “HD” format for images, to allow at the same time fast display and secure quality of picture. In such a way while adding an image to OW, we now get four formats: the “thumbnail”, the “form type”, the “full size screen”, and finally the “HD publishing-compliant” one…

No doubt that Koen De Smet, from Ghent (Belgium) is one of the most brilliant and efficient users of OrthoWave over the world and his OW expertise has begun more than 10 years ago… In other words, his database was very huge, complex and challenging to transfer to V6… We have spent an unbelievable amount of time to proceed to this transfer and it’s quite accomplished right now. Koen, we like you being happy with your OrthoWave software: if you are happy, all present and future OW users on this planet will be fully satisfied!

A soon as OrthoWave has got into its stride, what is quite currently obtained, we will be able to accelerate the current projects that are already in the pipe, i.e. in particular the synchronization process (off line to on line versions), a light OW version on PDAs (”say hello to OW on your iPhone!…”), and additional modules as the Shoulder platform…

Rome has not been erected in a single day… We would speak about OrthoWave upon similar words, for sure, while taking into account so many years of continuous development… Hope to anticipate for it such a brilliant outcome as the Roman history!…
